Employee IT onboarding & offboarding
A new employee needs working equipment and the right access. A departure needs coordinated access changes and a clear owner for the work left behind. SyncrionIT helps turn those events into a documented process the business can repeat.
Translate the role into an approved setup
A manager defines what the employee needs to do; IT maps those tasks to accounts, groups, licenses, equipment, and applications. We establish who approves access and who can answer questions about business systems. A colleague's existing permissions are a reference, not an automatic instruction to duplicate everything.
The checklist records the start date, work location, device requirements, and application owners. It also identifies purchases or vendor actions that could affect readiness, so the hiring manager can see what remains open.
- Business email, collaboration, and shared-resource access
- Approved applications and license assignments
- Computer preparation and agreed device-management enrollment
- Sign-in, multi-factor authentication, and recovery setup
- First-day workflow checks and support instructions
Prepare devices and validate the first working day
Equipment is prepared against the agreed configuration rather than assembled through a series of urgent first-day requests. Existing devices are checked for ownership and suitability before reuse. Required applications, updates, and access settings are coordinated with the appropriate vendors or administrators.
Validation covers the user's actual tasks: signing in, reaching required resources, opening applications, and using relevant office equipment. The employee receives practical instructions for support and account recovery. Remaining items are documented with an owner and next step.
Coordinate departures without losing ownership of the work
The authorized business contact provides the timing and instructions for access changes. We identify accounts, active sessions, devices, shared resources, and application ownership that need attention. Preserving business records, transferring responsibilities, and removing access are tracked as separate tasks.
A role change can use the same process: remove access that is no longer needed, approve the new role, and update the inventory. Departure work closes with a record of completed actions and any vendor or retention decisions still owned by the business.
What the business receives
The written estimate confirms the deliverables for your engagement. Depending on the agreed scope, these include:
- Role-based setup checklist and approval responsibilities
- Device, account, and license records for the agreed systems
- First-day validation results and support handover
- Departure or role-change checklist with completed and outstanding actions
Before we start
A short description is enough for the initial conversation. The following information helps define the work; you do not need to have every answer ready.
- Approved start, departure, or role-change date and timing
- Employee role, manager, location, and required applications
- Available equipment and purchasing responsibility
- Business decisions about records, shared work, and account ownership
Project work starts with a written estimate. Changes to the approved scope are discussed before additional work proceeds. View pricing.
Scope & expectations
The business authorizes employment-related timing, permissions, and record-handling decisions. Hardware, subscriptions, specialist application configuration, and work outside the agreed systems are separately scoped. Do not send employee-sensitive records or credentials in the initial inquiry.
Common questions
Can this be a one-time setup project?
Yes. SyncrionIT can scope a checklist, a group of devices, or an individual setup as a consulting project. Later account changes can be handled as pay-as-you-go support.
What if each department uses different software?
The process records department-specific requirements and application owners. Common steps can be standardized while access to each business application remains subject to the appropriate approval.
Can a departing employee's computer be reused immediately?
Reuse depends on device ownership, approved data handling, recovery needs, and the next user's requirements. Those decisions are confirmed before preparation or erasure, and relevant business records are handled through the agreed process.
